Reallifeaninstallation is a web project designed by Phuong T. Vuong and Julie Carr to accompany Carr's book Real Life: An Installation, (Omnidawn Books, 2018). Thirty-six hypothetical installations have been actualized in digital space by artists of diverse backgrounds, stages in their careers, and artistic practices. Galleries, art spaces, museums, or educational institutions who wish to present this project can do so in a variety of ways, including projection, real-life installation, and live performance. Real Life: An Installation was selected by Publisher’s Weekly as one of the best 5 books of poetry for 2018. It was named as one of the top books of poetry for fall of 2018 by Library Journal, and included in the Entropy’s Best of 2018 list.

Samuel Ace, poet and sound artist, is a Belladonna* Germinal Texts writer and the author of Our Weather Our Sea, forthcoming from Black Radish Books. He currently teaches at Mt. Holyoke College.

Adrian Arias, award winning visual poet, using the body, colors and the words.

Abraham Avnisan is an artist, technologist and educator whose work is situated at the intersection of image, text, and code. He is an Artist-in-Residence at University of Washington Bothell.

Nina Berfelde, born 1982 in Magdeburg (GDR). Cultural Anthropologist & Visual Artist. 

Amaranth Borsuk is a poet, scholar, and book artist whose most recent volumes are The Book (MIT Press, 2018) and Pomegranate Eater (Kore Press, 2016). She is Associate Director of the MFA in Creative Writing and Poetics at the University of Washington Bothell.

Julie Carr is the author of Real Life: An Installation, and nine other books of both poetry and prose. She lives in Denver where she helps to run Counterpath and teaches at CU Boulder.

Brent Cox is an artist, poet, and PhD student in University at Buffalo's Poetics Program.

Serena Chopra is a writer, dancer, visual and performance artist.

Michelle Ellsworth attempts to make kinesthetic replicas of peculiar geopolitical and personal phenomena.

Erin Espelie recently co-founded NEST (Nature, Environment, Science & Technology) Studio for the Arts.

Sara Falk-Mann is a writer, designer, and shoe-maker living in Brooklyn, NY. 

Yanara Friedland is the author of the book Uncountry: A Mythology.

K.J. Holmes, based in Brooklyn NY, is a dance artist, singer, actor and human being who travels nationally and internationally teaching and performing, and has been collaborating with Julie Carr since last century.

Jeanne Liotta (NYC/CO) makes films and other cultural ephemera. She is represented by Microscope Gallery, Bklyn NY.

J. Michael Martinez is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Poetry at St. Lawrence University, and lives in Upstate New York with his fiancé and two cats.

Gesel Mason is Artistic Director of Gesel Mason Performance Projects a project based dance company that seeks to create meaningful, relevant, and compelling art events as a way to encourage compassion and inquiry.

Linda Norton is the author of a chapbook, Hesitation Kit (EtherDome, 2007); The Public Gardens: Poems and History (Pressed Wafer, 2011; introduction by Fanny Howe), a hybrid work of poetry and non-fiction and a finalist for a Los Angeles Times Book Prize; a forthcoming chapbook, Dark White (Omerta, 2018); and a new manuscript of memoir, lyric essay, and poetry called Wite Out: Love and Work.

Jeffrey Pethybridge is the author of Striven, The Bright Treatise.

Luther Price is an experimental film maker and artist based in Revere, MA. 

Benjamin Roberts is a cellist from Denver, Colorado who currently studies with Mark Kosower at the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Carin Rodenborn is a visual artist and writer who makes painting-objects, ephemeral drawings, and text-based art.

Kelly Sears is an experimental animato who combines animated photographic and film documents with speculative storytelling, each of her films contains recognizable political and social narratives that take fictional twists, becoming uncanny or fantastic as history merges with myth.

Robert Yerachmiel Sniderman is a poet-artist and theorist, currently at work on a durational, site-specific performance project, Lost in Jüdische Friedhof Weißensee.

Joe Steele is an artist-filmmaker and curator, currently a PhD student in Critical Media Practices at CU Boulder. His work explores the collisions, compositions, and lines of flight that happen in the archive, and brings artistic practice into dialogue with other domains and disciplines.

Joel Swanson is an artist and writer who explores the relationship between language and technology.

Edwin Torres is the author of eight books of poetry, including, XoeteoX: the infinite word object (Wave Books), Ameriscopia (University of Arizona Press), Yes Thing No Thing (Roof Books) and editor of the anthology Rebody Reword: The Body In Language (Counterpath Press).

Niki Tulk is an ex-pat Australian theatre director, performer, poet, novelist and musician.
